Owsley Brown Frazier testifies at the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee

Owsley Brown Frazier, chairman of the Frazier International History Museum testified today on behalf of the Museum before Chairman Charlie Borders and the committee members of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee. Mr. Frazier detailed the Museum’s request of the committee for $625,000 to help fund two state-wide Museum projects celebrating the Lincoln Bicentennial in 2008.

The projects include a state-wide traveling play entitled “Lincoln: A Kentucky Memory” and the Frazier Museum’s hosting of “Liberty at the Border”. Both projects will enable the Museum to educate and enlighten all Kentuckians, on the historical significance of the Lincoln Bicentennial and highlight the achievements of Abraham Lincoln.

The Museum is grateful to the committee for passing favorably SB2 out of committee so it can receive Senate Floor action. Additionally, the Museum is thankful to Governor Fletcher for making the general fund appropriation of $220,000 one of his budget recommendations for the special session.
